Informal Flex/ColdFusion Integration Coding Session

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

I’ve had a number of requests for ColdFusion specific Flex content during past online seminars, or when visiting ColdFusion customers that are interested in Flex. Most Flex content that exists today is strong J2EE-centric. With that in mind I put together some CF-centric content to integrate with Flex and will be holding an informal ColdFusion/Flex coding session this Friday, April 8 @ 2 PM Eastern.

I’m expecting an hour in duration but will go for as long as there are active questions.

Flex in Detroit

Wednesday, April 6th, 2005

If you’re going to be in the Detroit area this weekend, and you’re a ColdFusion or Flash developer, then you might be interested in the Powered by Detroit Conference (PbD). The PbD conference is specifically targeted at promoting the combined use of ColdFusion and Flash. The conference, scheduled for April 9 - 10, has presentations from industry experts for every skill level from beginner to professional.

Of course as a natural extension of the focus of the conference, there are some Flex presentations as well. I’ll be presenting “Rich Internet Applications with Flex” from 3 - 4 PM on Saturday, April 9. If you’ve seen a presentation with this title before, this time is going to be ColdFusion focused which will differ from the common Java-centric presentation Macromedia generally provides.

Other Flex-centric presentations include “Flex Your ColdFusion Muscles” by Matt Woodward and “Customizing Flex Components” by Jeff Taper.
