Flash Lite 1.1: Blood Pressure Tracker

If you follow my blog you’ll no doubt be under the impression that I am all about Flex. For the most part, this is true, and as a Sr. Product Specialist here at Adobe, specifically for the Flex product, I spend the majority of my time in that wonderful world. Occasionally though I’ll head out to other technologies provided by Adobe and give them a whirl. Sometimes this is driven by customer interests/demand, but others are purely exploratory in nature. Such is the case with the following Flash Lite 1.1 application - Blood Pressure.

Spring <br /> 2006

I had the distinct pleasure recently of presenting at the Spring <br /> 2006 conference at Ohio University in Athens, OH. It’s a funny thing how a college campus empties during spring break; it was almost a ghost town. That is that it was ghost town with the exception of the well-sized crowd that attended the conference. Amazingly well organized and with a diversity of topics to wet any developer’s appetite, I look forward to presenting/attending again in 2007.

I had two presentations - one on Developing with Flash Lite 2.0, and another Introducing Flex 2.0. After my Flash Lite presentation I had many requests for the slides and demonstration content. Those materials are attached to this post.

I attended Bill Perry’s online seminar about Flash Lite the other evening on a whim. I’ve attended his seminar presentation before, and attended all the MAX 2005 Flash Lite sessions, but you just never know when you might see something new. Bill did a great job of covering an expansive amount of ground very succinctly. Towards the end he talked about some new components for Flash Lite that included inline text support. Go figure that I had just finished a project where I created such a component.
