Lots of Flash, Flex, and Zend, PHP Samples

What? PHP, Zend and Adobe goodness. Why? Because I’m obsessive compulsive and can’t stop myself from iterating over a problem every which way possible. Depending on how you count it, there’s somewhere between 13 and 54 different Flash, and/or Flex examples included in the attached archive - that doesn’t even count the different PHP examples (also included). I started these examples in support of the Adobe and Zend announcements related to Flex Builder and AMF. With some help from Wade Arnold along the way, it’s now a rather overwhelming collection.

Adobe, Zend and Ed Finkler

Last week Adobe and Zend made a couple of really great announcements. The first was official addition of AMF (remoting) to the Zend Framework via Zend AMF. If you’re an AMFPHP fan, you’ll be happy to hear that Wade Arnold is heavily involved in this project. The other announcement was the two companies working together to have Flex Builder run inside Zend Studio. We still have some QE work to do here, but this promises a seamless workflow for rich client developers.

Flex Builder Data Wizard and PHP

One of the questions we hear frequently as evangelists, out there talking to developers new to Adobe technologies is “How easy is it to get started with X?” It probably one of the core questions that drives a large amount of innovation in the products. To that end, in Flex Builder 3, a new feature that was introduced was the Data Wizard. With the Data Wizard, you set up a Flex project, point at a database, select a table, and you’re done.
